St. Paul, MN–December 11, 2000–FasTest has introduced a processing system that shortens the time to fill and evacuate refrigerant in both the manufacturing and service environments. CoreMax® is a system of tools designed to work with a new high-flow valve, providing up to six times the processing flow. In addition, CoreMax offers dramatically improved sealing, faster access connections and improved manufacturing tool durability and ergonomics.
Evacuation and fill times are comparable with process tubes, with no pinching, on-line brazing or material waste. Evacuating through the CoreMax valve with the system's SnapMate connector is as fast as processing through a 1/4" tube. The evacuation rate increases even more by evacuating through the CoreMax seat using the core insertion tool. The CoreMax valve uses the same thread taper and sealing surface as those in standard Schrader access valves, so it works with all existing caps and service tools.
Unlike other systems, CoreMax is an integrated system design, not a component design. It's designed for processing through a seat or valve‹other systems are not designed for processing. CoreMax is the first system with all components designed to work together to maximize flow, and to provide speed and ease of use to both manufacturing and service. The following components make up the CoreMax system: CoreMax high-flow access valve, SnapMate connector, seat, core insertion tool, torque tool, and core removal tool. All tools are made to last in production environments, and quickly snap on and off.
The CoreMax high-flow valve provides greatly improved sealing. Double sealing is accomplished with an o-ring elastomer seal and a metal-to-metal back-up seal. The CoreMax valve seal positioning is manufactured to extremely tight tolerances to ensure consistent sealing.
