| SIGN FACES, LLC REDUCES SIGN BREAKAGE WITH MAKROLON® POLYCARBONATE SHEET FROM SHEFFIELD PLASTICS. | |
| Sheffield, MA —May 10, 2005—Sign Faces, LLC, (Faces) Birmingham, AL, a wholesale manufacturer of custom signs, is experiencing less sign breakage than with acrylic by using MAKROLON® Polycarbonate Sheet from Sheffield Plastics Inc. This is a significant benefit during manufacturing and handling. They also experience less breakage during shipping and installation. Damage from environmental exposure is also reduced. According to Sign Faces co-owner, Troy Crocker: “We use MAKROLON SL Polycarbonate Sheet clear and white reels to manufacture signs for a variety of industries. We prefer MAKROLON Sheet because of its impact resistance, resulting in significantly less breakage versus acrylic materials.” Thermoformability is another issue for Faces: “We like the fact that MAKROLON SL Sheet is extremely easy to fabricate, thermoform and decorate”, continued Troy. “It also meets UL Section 48 criteria for indoor and outdoor electric signage applications.” The UL listing allows the use of less costly components during installation, making MAKROLON SL Sheet a high performance yet economical choice for channel letters of all shapes and sizes. A new 8-page color brochure is available from Sheffield Plastics describing their full line of polycarbonate sheet and film products for the toughest outdoor sign applications.
