| Sheffield, MA—March 23, 2007—Sheffield Plastics Inc., a Bayer MaterialScience Company, now has an excellent new voice-over CD available that offers a detailed overview of two MAKROLON® Sheet products and MAKROFOL® film for the sign manufacturing industry, including a brief overview of the Bayer Group.
MAKROLON® Sheet products covered in the CD include MAKROLON SL polycarbonate sheet, which has excellent sunlight resistance and MAKROLON® AR sheet, which has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. The featured MAKROFOL® film product is MAKROFOL DE 1-4 white film. The CD is comprehensive and easy to use and can be paused and played as necessary, or users can skip between sections.
MAKROLON SL sheet details include information on its exceptional weatherability and superior impact strength. It is rated UL® Section 48 and is ideal for pan and flat face signage. Users achieve higher impact protection with thinner and lighter sheets. MAKROLON SL includes a ten-year limited warranty against excessive yellowing, loss of light transmission and breakage. The CD also features MAKROLON AR, a polycarbonate sheet which has excellent chemical and abrasion resistance with a glass-like surface hardness. Its proprietary, excellent abrasion-resistant hard coating is non-stick, virtually chemical resistant, and scratch resistant. It is UV protected and includes a 7-year limited warranty. Additional MAKROLON sheet information covered in the CD includes standard masking, available gauges, standard tolerances, standard sizes, packaging (case, pallet or reel) and available colors.
The CD also discusses MAKROFOL® DE 1-4 white polycarbonate film. It is dimensionally stable with a translucent white color that eliminates a color pass. MAKROFOL® DE 1-4 is also second surface printable for added depth. It is typically used for trade show displays, POP signage and menu boards, and is easily embossed, die cut, or formed using thermoforming. The CD also lists important ordering information including standard colors, standard sheet and reel sizes, standard domestic packaging, and bulk roll lengths and widths.
A handy formula for determining shipping weight for sheet and film products is also included. The new CD is available by calling Sheffield Plastics Customer Service at 1-800-254-1707.
