Fairmont, MN–November 15, 2003–Avery Weigh-Tronix, Inc. introduces its new PANCAKE SCALE, a large, low profile cargo scale that is the first to offer the accuracy and reliability of Weigh Bar® sensor technology. The large, 10-ft. X 10-ft. durable steel platform incorporates four 5,000 lb. Weigh Bar sensors to provide a total capacity of 20,000 lbs.

Peterson pointed to data from a 3-year study that put failure rates for the Weigh Bar at a mere one-half of one percent- a significant improvement over the 3%-5% failure rates of competitive load cells. Studies also indicate superior rates for errors, reflecting greater accuracy for the Weigh Bar technology.

The Avery Weigh-Tronix Pancake Scale features wrap-around ramps provide 360-degree access for forklifts, hand trucks and cargo transport vehicles, while the 4-inch height helps keep loads level and easier to move on and off the scale. End ramps are 36-inches long with a very gradual 6-degree slope; side ramps are 15-inches long with a 15-degree slope. The Pancake Scale features the industry's most secure protection for the Weigh-Bar sensors-vastly superior to even hermetic sealing- ensuring the most durability and reliable operation in rugged use conditions. Factory Mutual approved for hazardous applications, the scale comes complete with 30-feet of interface cable and a remote stainless steel junction box.
